Payroll Specialist – Mid-level position
This position is a full time position.

The ideal candidate can handle high speed productivity together with interruptions without getting sidetracked while providing superior service to clients. The candidate will be able to multi-task in an independent, self-managed environment and interface with clients, co-workers and state and federal tax agencies professionally, expeditiously, and competently.  This position requires a variety of technical and communication skills as the duties are diverse.  Accounting experience is very helpful.  This is a rewarding position if you are self-motivated, able to work independently and enjoy a diverse, occasionally fast-paced environment.
 
Duties include:
  • Utilizing advanced proprietary payroll software.
  • Dealing with customers, providing customer software support, entering payroll information, verifying accuracy.
  • Overseeing payroll tax deposits in multiple states.
  • Creating excel spreadsheets for reconciliations and special reports.
  • New hire reporting.
  • Reconciling and filing payroll tax reports for both federal and state entities.

Required Skills:
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well experienced of hands on payroll processing including benefits.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Versatile with different types of payroll processing programs.
  • Knowledge of federal and state tax payment and reporting requirements.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Understanding of QuickBooks.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and execute multiple concurrent activities.
  • Must be highly organized, self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to “drill down” to find and resolve discrepancies.
  • Advanced problem solving skills.
